Who went home on 'The Bachelorette' week 4? Here's what you missed
Season 21 of "The Bachelorette" with Florida's Jenn Tran docked in New Zealand for this week's episode.
After only four episodes, Bachelor Nation has quickly latched onto its favorite contestants, while raising wine glasses for the mindless drama started by this season's "villains." The latest debacle has fans picking sides — are you rooting for Sam M. or Devin?
Four weeks ago, 25 men declared they were out for Jenn's heart and hand in marriage on the premiere episode. Now, ABC's hit reality show only has 12 suitors left after the fourth episode.
Three Florida men tried to leave a lasting impression on Jenn during the first night, but only two of them joined Jenn in Australia for the second week. And there's only one left — John Mitchell from Delray Beach.
Here's what you missed on the fourth episode of "The Bachelorette" last night, how many men are left and who went home.

Who did Jenn send home on 'The Bachelorette' night four?
One man did go home on last night's episode but it wasn't during a rose ceremony. In a twist, the episode didn't end in rose ceremony, as someone from Jenn's past made a surprise appearance.
Sam N. was sent home during the group date, with Jenn saying she didn't see them going far in the end.
What happened on the last episode of 'The Bachelorette?' Who got a one-on-one date?
This episode of “The Bachelorette” ended with an unexpected twist, instead of the usual rose ceremony.
Both one-on-one dates went to the two men who have been the center of the drama in the house: Sam M. and Devin.
Sam’s date was the first one of week four. He and Jenn went to Sky Jump, a tall building in Auckland that provides a bungee jump-style experience, where you’re attached to a harness and free-fall to land safely on the ground below the building.
Jenn, who wasn’t as nervous to skydive during her one-on-one date with Marcus, was terrified. She explained that she didn’t feel heard or supported by Sam, who was just focused on convincing her to take the jump.
“You can’t convince me to jump,” Jenn said.
“I’ll give you a little push,” Sam laughed.
“I hate heights. I’m scared. I think he needs to be doing a better job of reading my emotions right now,” Jenn told the camera in an interview.
Jenn eventually and reluctantly took the jump with Sam and was happy she did. They toasted with a glass of champagne, to facing fears and “never having to jump off of a building again,” and finished their day with the classic “Bachelor” style dinner date.
Going into her date with Sam, Jenn mentioned that she’s looking for an emotional connection with him, since their relationship has been mainly about physical chemistry up to this point.
Sam opened up to Jenn that he’s been engaged previously.
“She was somebody who I thought I was going to spend forever with,” Sam said. “And the second we got engaged, it just instantly started to deteriorate … She told me that there was another guy. And that moment that I started to really feel and know that I wasn’t being chosen was such a gut-punch.”
Jenn must have been satisfied with the conversation, because Sam got the date rose.
“I think this conversation with Sam is making me understand that the fears that I had about him aren’t real,” Jenn told the camera.
This week’s group date was a rugby game, in which the men who didn’t get one-on-one dates played a game. While the rest of the men played rugby, Devin and Sam sat at home alone, which was awkward, to say the least.
After the group date, Sam N. opened up to Jenn at the cocktail party and asked her if they could share their first kiss. Jenn politely declined and sent him home.
That must have been confusing to Sam, because just a few minutes earlier, Jenn was saying how much she “loved” the rugby Jersey he made her that said “Sam’s wife” on the back.
The episode ended with Jenn’s one-on-one date with Devin, which was a traditional Maori (New Zealand’s native people) ceremony experience.
On this date, Jenn opened up about being from a Buddhist family and wanting to carry on some Buddhist values into her marriage and future family.
On their dinner date, Jenn and Devin connected over having working, single mothers throughout their childhood.
“For Devin to share with me everything that happened when he was growing up and all the struggles that he has really touched my heart,” Jenn told the camera. “I resonate with that so much, and I feel that Devin and I have a very unique connection that not a lot of people could understand.”
The episode didn’t end with a traditional rose ceremony, but with a huge twist. One of Jenn’s ex-boyfriends, Matthew, surprised her in New Zealand.
Jesse Palmer told the camera that he paid his own way to New Zealand to try to be included in Jenn’s journey.
“I couldn’t just let her go. I’m here to tell Jenn that I still love (her) and that I’m here to show (her) that,” Matthew told Jesse. “Whatever I have to do to win that trust back, I’m here to see if there could be a future with us.”
The episode ended there. Next week will most likely begin with a rose ceremony.
Why can't they eat the food on 'The Bachelor' dates? We finally get an answer
Ever wondered why the Bachelor couples never touched their food while on their dates? Bachelor Nation can finally put this case to rest — it's all host Jesse Palmer's fault.
“On my season, I was scarfing the food down on every single date. Trying to have this serious, heartfelt conversation, just literally talking through the food,” Palmer shared to Jenn as clips went by of the former Bachelor lead stuffing his face while on several dates.
He joked that he "ruined it" for other leads in the years to come, with couples no longer allowed to eat while talking on the dates.
