The D23 Ultimate Disney Fan Event kicks off Aug. 9 in Anaheim, California, where fans gather as Disney reveals major developments happening throughout its theme parks, entertainment and other guest experiences.
What is D23 Expo 2024?
"D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event" is a one-of-a-kind, multi-day fan experience showcasing various storytelling and innovation from across the worlds of Disney. Founded back in 2009, it is considered the "official fan club" for the Walt Disney Company.
"D23 in 2024 has been reimagined to be more expansive and more immersive than ever before, with three packed days of showcases with stars and storytellers, sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes moments, thrilling performances, shopping, surprises, and more," its description writes.
What does 'D23' stand for?
According to its website, the "D23" pays homage to founder Walt Disney's first studio in Hollywood, which opened in 1923.
When and where is D23? Where is Anaheim?
D23 takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center in Anaheim, California from Aug. 9 through Aug. 11.
Anaheim is a city in Southern California, roughly 26 miles outside of Los Angeles. It's home to the Disneyland parks and hotels.
How much are tickets to D23 Expo 2024? Can I still buy tickets?
Tickets for the event are completely sold out.
Tickets for the convention went on sale back in March 2024, starting at $79 for a single-day entry and going up to $999 for the 3-Day Ultimate Preferred Pass. Only D23 members can purchase tickets.
How do I join D23 membership ahead for next year?
Fans can sign up for D23 membership at D23.com, which gets you exclusive discounts and access to special events and merchandise. The three tiers for membership include:
- Gold Membership ($99.99/year)
- Gold Duo Membership ($129.99/year)
- General Membership (complimentary)
Does Disney World in Florida have a D23 or something similar?
Florida doesn't have its own version of the popular D23 convention. Instead, members will have to travel more than 2,000 miles to attend the one in Anaheim.
Will D23 be streamed to the public?
D23 officials have shared that certain panels and events will be live-streamed, just not the entire convention. For example, Fortnite and Disney's collaboration reveal will stream exclusively in Fortnite on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 p.m. EST.
