Powdered baby formula sold under the CVS store brand in Florida and 11 other states is being recalled due to levels of vitamin D over the maximum allowed, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The Perrigo Company voluntarily recalled three lots within one batch, or 16,500 cans, of store brand Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder, the FDA said.

Excessive vitamin D isn't likely to bother most children, the FDA said, but the baby formula could cause health complications for infants with certain conditions such as impaired renal function. The elevated levels were discovered by testing, there have not been any reports of problems.

The products were sold under store brands in H-E-B grocery stores in Texas and in CVS locations in Florida, Texas, California, South Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Tennessee, New Jersey, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Missouri.
