Wanda Jean Winikus, 66, passed away on July 29, 2024 at Lakeland Regional Hospital. She was the loving and proud wife of Thomas Winikus. They shared 46 happy years of marriage together.

Wanda was born in Pottstown, PA, and would go on to graduate from Boyertown High School in 1975. She would later move to Florida from Pennsylvania. It was in Florida where she met her beloved husband. Wanda and Tom were married in June of 1977.

Throughout the years of her career, Wanda held a multitude of different professions due to her diverse skill-sets. Of these multiple professions, her fondest was when she proudly worked alongside her husband at GEICO. Wanda excelled in a number of positions within the company before retiring with over 20 years of service.

Wanda became a proud mother, for the first time, in the fall of 1981 when her son Thomas Winikus was born. She would later give birth to her second son William Winikus in the fall of 1988.

Wanda dedicated herself to her husband, her boys, and the family farm over the course of her life. Wanda put her family’s needs before anything else. Wanda would always provide for, reassure, and give unconditional love to those around her. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, her love, her courage, her strength, her humor, her toughness, and being the most wonderful mother.

Wanda’s husband, Thomas Winikus, passed away in April of 2024. Wanda is survived by her two sons, Thomas Winikus and William Winikus.

Mom and Dad will forever be with us, at home, on the family farm.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Lakeland Funeral Home. Visitation will be held starting at 11 a.m., followed by the memorial service at noon.
