Lisa Gail Fox

Lisa Gail Howell Fox (63), wife of Duane Edward Fox, went to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, August 2, 2024. Lisa passed away in Huntsville, Alabama as the result of surgery complications to address her breast cancer recurrence. She was courageous and always positive no matter what challenge she faced.

Lisa and Duane, shared a love story that unfolded over seven years with music, travel, hiking, reading, and gardening. They married and recently took up residency in Athens, Alabama and looked forward to enjoying a new chapter in their lives as husband and wife. Lisa, a graduate of the University of Florida, Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business, and Winter Haven High School, was creative, playful and lived life fully.

From her love of the beach and gardening in Florida to the Colorado mountains that fed her love of hiking and nature, wherever she lived, along the way, Lisa made an impact on many lives. Lisa shared her beautiful heart freely with a commitment to serving others both personally and professionally. As a business owner she helped many heal through her therapeutic massage practice, Essential Kneads. A lover of words and storytelling, Lisa was also a voracious reader and music filled her home.

Lisa will be profoundly missed by her husband, Duane, her rich circle of close friends near and far, and by the Fox and Howell families. She was a loving wife and devoted to others. As was her desire, her remains were donated to Science Care, supporting future generations through research. She now serves God in heaven. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date. Lisa was the daughter of Clifton Howell and Sylvia (Crusoe) Howell. Lisa's sister Susan Howell Geresy and her parents preceded her in death. Lisa is survived by her loving husband Duane Fox and family; Duane's children Julie, Jon (Sue) and his grandchildren Ryan & Spencer Fox, her Aunt Linda Howell Collier (Lester), cousins, stepmother, Janice Howell; two stepsisters, Jana Spence LaBarbera (Rick), and Lani Spence Stuart; and their children.
